Ark Clams [Arcida]

Description

The Arcida order comprises marine bivalve molluscs known as ark clams. Representatives of this order have a distinctive hinged shell with a straight hinge line bearing many small teeth. They are primarily found in marine environments, from shallow waters to deep-sea habitats, and are known for their robust and often equivalve shells. Ark clams are filter feeders, consuming plankton and organic particles from the water.
